Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about creating Twitch highlight reels and clip compilations with ClipMix.
What is ClipMix?
ClipMix is a free, browser-based Twitch clip editor that lets you combine multiple Twitch clips into a single highlight reel or compilation video. Search for clips by streamer or game, drag and drop them into the order you want, and hit Mix — no video editing software or downloads required.
Is ClipMix free to use?
Yes! ClipMix is completely free. You can create Twitch clip compilations, download them, and share them without paying anything. ClipMix is currently in beta, and we plan to keep a generous free tier as we add premium features in the future.
Do I need to install any software?
No. ClipMix runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to download or install — just sign up, search for Twitch clips, and start building your highlight reel.
How do I create a Twitch highlight reel with ClipMix?
It takes four steps: (1) Search for Twitch clips by streamer name, game category, or paste a clip URL. (2) Add clips to your mix and arrange them with drag-and-drop. (3) Optionally trim each clip to keep only the best moments. (4) Hit Mix — ClipMix combines your clips into a single video you can download and share.
Can I combine Twitch clips from different streamers?
Absolutely. Multi-channel mixing is one of ClipMix's core features. You can search for clips from as many different Twitch streamers as you want and combine them all into one compilation video.
Can I add Twitch clips by URL?
Yes. In addition to searching by streamer or game, you can paste any Twitch clip URL directly into ClipMix to add it to your mix.
What video format does ClipMix export?
ClipMix exports your finished highlight reel as an MP4 file, which is compatible with YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and virtually every other platform.
Can I choose the resolution of my Twitch clip compilation?
Yes. Before you mix, you can select your preferred output resolution. This lets you tailor your Twitch highlight reel for different platforms — for example, higher resolution for YouTube or a specific size for TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Does ClipMix add subtitles to my clips?
ClipMix offers optional auto-generated subtitles that you can enable before mixing. Subtitles make your Twitch clip compilations more accessible and perform better on platforms where viewers watch without sound.
Can I trim individual Twitch clips before combining them?
Yes. ClipMix lets you trim the start and end of each clip so you only keep the best moments. This means you don't need to use separate video editing software to cut your Twitch clips before merging them.
Do I need a Twitch account to use ClipMix?
You need a ClipMix account to create mixes, but you do not need a Twitch account. ClipMix accesses publicly available Twitch clips, so anyone can search for and compile them.
Can I share my mix configuration with someone else?
Yes. ClipMix generates a shareable link for your mix configuration, so others can load the same set of clips and order without having to rebuild it from scratch.
What games and categories can I find clips for?
You can find Twitch clips for any game or category available on Twitch — from popular titles like Valorant, League of Legends, Fortnite, and Lethal Company to Just Chatting, IRL, and everything in between.
Will ClipMix support clips from YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram?
Multi-platform support is on our roadmap. We plan to add the ability to mix clips from YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram alongside Twitch clips so you can build cross-platform highlight reels.
Can I upload my finished compilation directly to YouTube?
Direct YouTube upload is a planned feature. Once available, you'll be able to publish your Twitch highlight reel straight to your YouTube channel with one click — no download-and-reupload step needed.
How is ClipMix different from downloading clips manually and editing them?
Without ClipMix, making a Twitch clip compilation means downloading each clip individually, importing them into desktop video editing software, arranging a timeline, and exporting. That process can take hours. ClipMix handles the entire workflow in your browser in minutes — search, arrange, trim, and export in one place.
